NLM: National Library of Medicine

National Library of Medicine (NLM) is the world’s largest medical library administered by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and located in Bethesda, Maryland. The precursor of the NLM, established in 1836, was the Library of the Surgeon General's Office, a part of the office of the Surgeon General of the United States Army and its new name was given in 1956.
