RDA: Resource Description and Access

Resource Description and Access (RDA) is a set of content standards for cataloguing materials held in libraries and other cultural institutions developed to replace Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules, 2nd edition, 2002 revision (AACR2) and published in June, 2010 under the title RDA Toolkit by the American Library Association, the Canadian Library Association, and Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) (UK). The organization of RDA is based on international standards developed by the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA), such as Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records (FRBR) and Functional Requirements for Authority Data (FRAD).
