XML: Extensible Markup Language

Extensible Markup Language (XML) is a markup language that defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format which is both human-readable and machine-readable. XML is developed by World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) under the editorship of Tim Bray, Jean Paoli, C. M. Sperberg-McQueen, Eve Maler, Fran├žois Yergeau and John Cowan in 1996.
